How much outdoor is good _ every home floor plan will include an outdoor area, perhaps an open porch, a swimming pool, a garden umbrella with seating etc. Making an assessment of how much time will be spent in these areas should be considered before making the plans. Imagine a swimming pool that is never used and looks unkempt and unclean! Outdoors need a lot of maintenance.
Understanding standard basic sizes of furniture can help with planning a room. Sofas can range from 78_inches to 108_inches. A standard sofa size is approximately 36" x 90". A standard loveseat is approximately 36" x 60". Upholstered chairs are usually around 36" x 36" give, or take. Barrel and swivel chairs can be found at 30" x 30" and up. Small wood frame chairs can be found as small as 24" x 24". The standard desk is 30" x 60".
Technical difference _ In 2D floor plans, you, the designer, work on both y axis and x axis. Moreover, the design can be changed in up, down, right and left sides. On the other hand, 2D plans are a lot simpler and cheaper relatively. They can be used to show the right, top and front side of the object. Unlike 2D, designers work on three exis to create 3D floor plans. Actually, this is like molding an object that looks same no matter which angle you look at it from. With 3D technology, solid models and wireframes are created line by line.
If the floor plans are being made by a specialist such as an architect or engineer, the homeowner has the advantage of experience and expertise on his side. However, no one knows the needs of a home better than the homeowner and a customized design can be put together by the individual concerned.
